A couple of days of cold weather earlier this week probably hastened the retreating flows. Not bad drifting conditions, esp in the smaller waterways. Started in fairly shallow 80-120FOW and got some nice kings first thing in the morning but things slowed. You can lay a rod down on the bank or net a fish or walk along the immediate riverbank or walk around a wading obstruction for safety but anglers cannot CONGREGATE on the Archers Club grounds on the dates not included above. Without access back to Lake Ontario, those overflow fish are likely goners unless theres a perfectly timed spate of water later this spring. A few guys report their hookups include at least one real good big fish. Theres still good numbers of fish higher in the Oak watercourse nearer the dam. Other area smaller tribs should be open and ice free in the upstream reaches with some lower river ice cover or jams. Fish for perch in Sodus Bay near the north end breach, next to Bonnie Castle and Oak Park on the east side and the west side next to the old malt house.
